In Praise of My King

When my sister and I arrived at the hospital this morning, Dad looked good. He told us that he had just received his third treatment. We were amazed that he was able to receive them every eight hours like last time. But he is! We talked a bit, he read the newspaper, and the three of us looked at a photo album of family photos through the years together. That was neat. The side effects of the treatments kicked in a little later--nausea, vomitting, chills, and fever. Thankfully, they subsided, and Dad is still the determined fighter. When the nurse asked him how he was doing before administering his fourth treatment this afternoon, he told the her, "I know it will make me sick, but its just for now, and I've got a lot of living to do when I beat this thing." The nurse said, "Well we're gonna help you do that." I see God's hand sustaining my Dad, and I am thankful.

Thank You so much, Lord. I love You.

Psalm 145 has been speaking to me today. Here are some snippets:

I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.
Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.

The LORD is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
The LORD is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.

The LORD is faithful to all his promises
and loving toward all he has made.
The LORD upholds all those who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The LORD is righteous in all his ways
and loving toward all he has made.
The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.

My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD,
Let every creature praise his holy name
for ever and ever.

Thank you for your prayers for my Dad. Keep it up! I'll keep you posted.

Lots of love,

Tracy
