This girl's good sportsmanship makes me proud to be an American. She represented us well at the Olympics, and her victory on the beam has thus far been my favorite moment of the Olympics!
It was a great moment! My roommate & I cheered & clapped & cried. Did ya'll see her sweet parents? Oh I'm gettin' teary-eyed just thinking about it. They mortgaged their house to pay for her training and travel! It's the stories of the athletes & their families that keep me up til the wee hours watching!
I watched the gymnasts early on, while I was on vacation..but these days I'm not able to stay up much past 9. I think our girls have been outstanding...considering everything that's going on there. They are very good sportswoman. YAY Shawn!
We cheered loudly and stomped our feet. Go USA!
ReplyDeleteUs too! Miss E told me she wanted to grow up and be just like her! :)
ReplyDeleteI went to bed, but Ted stayed up and watched, and he loved it. :)

ReplyDeleteIsn't she just the cutest thing? Always with the smiling and the TEAM USA speak!
ReplyDeleteI admit though, each time she lands on the beam my ankles hurt. She's one solid cookie!

ReplyDeleteOh, me, too. I love the story of how she and her coach met. I was boo-hooing when they showed her mom falling apart!
