Both were very good, but whenever an apple variety hits big, they start growing more of them and the new orchards are often planted in places that don't have the correct conditions for that apple, and so they don't taste as good. What they sell as delicious these days is a sad reflection of what I used to eat.Maya's Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12183715043200608144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22557751.post-63392855037644790112007-06-05T23:18:00.000-05:002007-06-05T23:18:00.000-05:00I don't buy the bit about them having more energy ...I don't buy the bit about them having more energy than a cup of coffee for a second.

I do however LOVE Gala apples. They sometimes sell them at Whole Foods. Otherwise, I'm a Gala gal myself. I once asked the produce guy what kind of apples make the best pie, and he said that the best pies have a couple of different kinds of apples in them. I don't remember what kinds I bought that day...I think Pink Lady was one, and Granny Smith another, and boy, that pie was YUMMY. If you eat an apple pie a day, what will the doctor say then?
