This blog began as my place to chronicle my life in Los Angeles, where I lived from 2005-2009. In March 2009, my husband and I moved to my home state of Texas, where we have started a new chapter of life together.
My stepdad, John, gave me the nickname "Starshine" and I have always loved it. He passed away in 2003, but his love still resonates in my heart. John had a way of putting things simply and never judging. I hope that this blog will be a place for me to put into practice some of his virtues--a place to openly express myself, free from the judgment of my inner critic. A place to be truly alive!

I just read the last two posts. I'm glad he's turning the corner! Modern technology never ceases to amaze me :) I'll be praying for him.
It's so hard to know your loved ones are in pain. :( Glad he's feeling better now, though, and I hope he went home today!
