Having braved the murky waters of my twenties, I had learned that there is no point in trying to be the person you think your boyfriend wants you to be. Now I was in my thirties, and it was time to take the advice my mom gave me in fifth grade when cliques were forming and I wasn't in them: Be yourself.
So that fateful day, when Hubs was asking me the camping question, I responded with gusto: Yes, I like camping very much--especially if it's at the Hilton!
Needless to say, it wasn't a deal-breaker, and we've never gone camping. Until this coming weekend, that is. Our friends Jenn and Dave asked us if we'd like to go camping with them, so we are borrowing a tent, sleeping bags, etc. and we'll be "roughing it" for a couple of days.
I promise to take pictures. Wish this city slicker luck!

I can't wait to hear about how it goes. You might be surprised.
Campfires are the bomb...but sleeping at the Hilton is the best! haha I breathed a sigh of relief when I asked my future husband if he liked to go camping and he responded with EWW NO! haha
I'm sure you will have a great time though :)
What I love about camping: campfires with s'mores for the kids and wine for the adults; hiking and looking at spring flowers; other fun daytime activities. Really, the daytime stuff rocks. Waterfalls maybe? Nice!
What I dislike about camping: cooking without my kitchen; washing dishes without my kitchen; sleeping on the ground, with noises and such; having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but no decent bathroom around. Extra credit dislike if there are bears sniffing around the campground making sleep impossible, aka, Yosemite.
Hope you have a fabulous time, and I'm looking forward to hearing about your likes and dislikes as well!
Hah!
I hope you guys have fun time!
I'm with J, sleeping on the ground especially with noises outside is the part I don't like. All the other stuff I dig.
I'd prefer backpacking to car camping though. Although I happily utilize the running water and the facilities and having a cooler full of food is really nice, I'm not a fan of a one packed campsite after another. I'm going to get away, not to take the neighbors and their snoring with me.
