It's my mother's birthday! So, I am taking the fam to dinner tomorrow evening.
Afterward, the honey and I will meet up with some friends and listen to some live music. He is a drummer, so when we go check out local live music, the band will let him sit in on a song. So, normally pretty good times.
And of course, the Oscars. I feel like this is going to be a good weekend. :)
Brad is spend the night with the guys at a BBQ cookoff in Irving ???? Yes....weird, I know! Anyway...the girls and I wanted "Barbie as Rapunzel" (and poor little Josh joined the girls' night too) and made homemade pizza. Everyone had lots of fun cuddling on the couch in front of the fire....Well, Josh doesn't cuddle, he climbed on the 3 of us instead. Boys! But it did make me grateful that I have girls to watch a chic flick with ...what could be better than a princess, prince, dragons and the mean magic lady! :) Love ya and hope your weekend is as perfect as you expect! The landscapers are coming back tomorrow to work more on our rock walls! And I am going to buy a curtain rod so we can hang the curtain in the living room!
I'll be watching the oscars too, just like we used to do together in college, although this time I will have to go to bed early because I have to be at work by 7am which is so wrong!. I want Juno to win, although I know it is a long shot.
Painting! Sounds exciting huh? I loved the end result of the arduous day of patching and painting walls. My house feels new. Am I carrying on about this or what? :)
Sounds like a great weekend you have planned with hubs!!!
The last few weekends we've had no plans. Well Eric has had some client meetings, so then he ends up working some.
Since I didn't have any plans, I do believe I'm still in the clothes I went to bed in on Friday night. Eww I know, but its kind of one of those raining weekends. So far I've cleaned the fridge, and cleaned some spots on the carpet (cat puke is FUN!), and I've watched a ton of TV that I don't watch through the week. Ok, sometimes I have good, fun, semi-productive days when Eric is working. Today... hopefully grocery shopping, we'll cook a few big dishes for the week, and make some snacks for some cuddling on the couch with the Oscars. I might even get some blogging in, but let's not push things.
I love the Oscars and look forward to it every year. I think it reminds me of when I was a kid and we moved to Pasadena. Universal Studios made a big impact on me and I've always loved the movies ever since. I live in Texas, now, but every year I make special hors' douvers and watch the Oscars.
P.S. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I love meeting new people.
This blog began as my place to chronicle my life in Los Angeles, where I lived from 2005-2009. In March 2009, my husband and I moved to my home state of Texas, where we have started a new chapter of life together.
My stepdad, John, gave me the nickname "Starshine" and I have always loved it. He passed away in 2003, but his love still resonates in my heart. John had a way of putting things simply and never judging. I hope that this blog will be a place for me to put into practice some of his virtues--a place to openly express myself, free from the judgment of my inner critic. A place to be truly alive!
