This blog began as my place to chronicle my life in Los Angeles, where I lived from 2005-2009. In March 2009, my husband and I moved to my home state of Texas, where we have started a new chapter of life together.
My stepdad, John, gave me the nickname "Starshine" and I have always loved it. He passed away in 2003, but his love still resonates in my heart. John had a way of putting things simply and never judging. I hope that this blog will be a place for me to put into practice some of his virtues--a place to openly express myself, free from the judgment of my inner critic. A place to be truly alive!

oooohhh... how 'bout eating a bowl of ice cream while lounging in a t-shirt and jammy bottoms while in bed talking on the phone to a friend... (I don't have the hubs yet so I'll have to wait for that one. :)
And yes we would be amazing friends in the "real world"! A modern day Lucy & Ethel although we'd probably have to take turning being Lucy and then Ethel depending on the adventure!! :)

Hey, I know it's late, but we will continue praying for healing from your father's death. I"m so sorry. But I'm glad you got to go home and heal a little with your family.
I also wish I could put the actual bed as something that is nice and comfortable, but I'll have to just say bed time. Beds here are like sleeping on two by fours.
Young lady, you HAD ME at PJs - I LIVE in them. The minute I get home (unless I'm getting on the treadmill), I'm immediately in my pj pants. I mean, what else is there? Then you tossed in the bowl of ice cream and the beautiful bed. We may be sistas from anotha motha.

I would like to add a big bowl of chips to the list. I'm a bigger fan of the chip than the sweet, but to everything there is a season....

A(wo)men to all of your comforts. Especially the jammie pants. Ditto here. As soon as I get home from work, its find my comfy cotton drawstring pants and "ahhhhhhhhhhh, home."
