Tradition

Every Christmas Eve for the past 15 years or so, my family has always attended a Christmas party given by a family in our church. And for the past 10 years or so, a group of us girls always gather to have our pictures made together. I have known these two gals since I was a teenager.

I love family and friend traditions, and as I get older and have more years behind me, traditions like these mean more to me than ever. I hope to raise my own children with rich traditions that will give them a sense of where they come from when they get older.

I feel very blessed to have a sense of that myself because of the traditions I grew up with.

What are some of your favorite family/friend/holiday traditions?

At the moment, I don't think I have any holiday traditions. Maybe my cookie baking extravaganza! It didn't happen this year, so maybe that's why the season doesn't feel quite over yet... even though its 70 degrees outside!

We haven't really set up any traditions yet. It was a whirlwind of setting up his, hers and our Christmases. I'll have to put more thought into it and get back to you :)

Delivering goodies on Christmas Eve. Growing up we would always take cookies and breads to our family(and then friends) in town and get stuff in return. I hadn't done that in years and was able to do it again this year with friends :)

traditions are really good, my favorite is opening the Christmas gifts to and from my wife, just us the dog and the tree, before all the madness starts.
