One of my oldest and dearest friends came over with her family for a visit last week. This is their adorable little girl.

This blog began as my place to chronicle my life in Los Angeles, where I lived from 2005-2009. In March 2009, my husband and I moved to my home state of Texas, where we have started a new chapter of life together.
My stepdad, John, gave me the nickname "Starshine" and I have always loved it. He passed away in 2003, but his love still resonates in my heart. John had a way of putting things simply and never judging. I hope that this blog will be a place for me to put into practice some of his virtues--a place to openly express myself, free from the judgment of my inner critic. A place to be truly alive!

Those cheeks are unbelievably kissable! Seriously though, did you see that wrist in the last picture? Oh...my...gosh...love it!
