My New Full Time Job

In case you've been wondering what I've been doing to keep myself busy since I've moved to Texas, here's a little list:

~I've been fingerprinted to get an FBI clearance

~I've had passport pictures taken

~I've been examined by a doctor and had my blood drawn and tested

~I've had more documents notarized in the past few weeks than ever before in my entire life

No, I'm not going to work for the CIA, silly--Brian and I are adopting from Ethiopia! And let me tell you, all this paperwork is keeping me busy! It's my new full-time job.

Since the start of 2009, God has been leading us to internationally adopt from Ethiopia. It's been an exciting process and one of the biggest steps of faith we've taken. If you'd like to follow our adoption journey, you can bookmark our adoption blog: Always and Forever Ours!

I'll continue to post here about my usual Starshine happenings, but the new blog will be our place to post about our adoption journey!

We are on the front end of the process, and it typically takes an average of 18 months to complete an adoption from Ethiopia. We would so appreciate your prayers as we walk this path!

"God sets the lonely in families." -Psalm 68:6

WOO HOO WOO HOO!!!! When I saw that picture of those crazy fingerprints, I knew right away what you guys were up to!! What agency are you using? Oh man, that makes me so excited. If you ever have any questions, please, please email me. I LOVE answering adoption questions. It's been one of the most amazing journeys. We've got our court date on May 22nd. So we're praying that we'll pass on the first try. And then we get our travel date-hopefully June.

And trust me, the paperwork DOES actually end. It's a ton of work on the front end, but is worth it in the end. Congrats guys! I'm headed over to bookmark your blog. I can't wait to keep up with you guys in this.

I'm wishing that this journey is as easy and quick as possible. Not that it can actually be either easy or quick, but you know, the easiest and quickest it can be. :) Can't wait to see beautiful pictures of you and your family all together.
