You Know You're Domesticated When...

...you can't stop running to your window to see how many birds are feasting at your bird feeder now!

My mom gave me this squirrel-proof bird feeder and shepherd's hook on Mother's Day this year. If she is trying to prove to me that I really do have what it takes to be a bird-watching housewife, it's totally working.

Love it!
Well I was domesticated years ago. I totally adore having bird feeders and watching all the action. Looks like you have some house finches and a chickadee :-)

During my brief stay in Texas years ago, I would spend my free time going for walks and bird watching because I was so excited to see birds I'd never see in California. I know... dork!

Now all you need is several bird identification books! You will need this knowledge to teach your children!!!

Even more fun is placing a few bird boxes around the house and see how many come to nest. :)

This year we watched our regular family of Carolina Wrens hatch out yet another brood. We always wonder if it is the same pair or offspring of last year's bunch or just a new pair that return year after year...

You can also purchase a plexiglass bird box that you stick (with suction cups) to your window so that you can literally watch the birds build and lay and hatch and feed...GREAT STUFF!

I'm so thankful you and hubby are settling in so nicely. As the Princess who married Prince Charming, you are fulfilling your role well.
