Maybe it was then….

Never a child who liked playing with dolls, I was much more likely to be found up in a tree. I loved climbing trees--especially in the fall, when it was cool outside, and I could wear jeans and not get my legs scratched by the bark of the oaks in my backyard. Being up in a tree looking down on the world through the yellow autumn leaves provided me with the perfect blend of adventure and solitude. Maybe it was then that autumn became my favorite season.

Or maybe it was when my parents would rake leaves into piles all over the yard. And then my sister and I got to jump into them. Yeah…it was probably then.

I love the fall, too. When I was little, I had a floral pink corduroy suit (that´s right) and remember climbing the big tree in our front yard in it one day when it was cool outside, thoroughly enjoying fall. Isn´t it funny that we both had early fall experiences in long pants and trees?

Ad,

The fact that you worked a corduroy suit, the term "long pants" and quoted a Tom Hanks character all in one comment is further evidence that I am blessed to have a be-fri like you!

OH the joys of messing up the leaves your parents just spent the afternoon raking into that big pile.

I used to hate saying goodbye to summer, but now that I pay for the A/C I'm a little more accepting of Autumn.

Have a great weekend!

Um...I was kinda worried about the dog poop in piles of leaves, so never got really into that one...but I liked to climb a tree with a good book if I could. Most of my life I didn't live near the right kind of trees, unfortunately. Poor me. Let's have a pity party. ;)

Happy Friday!
