Candidate Calculator

One of my friends sent me a link to this Presidential Candidate Calculator. It takes a little bit of time, but it's a great way to educate yourself about the major issues concerning the upcoming presidential election. (For example, I learned about the torturous practice of waterboarding on Jelly Jules' blog, but I had no idea it would be a key issue to consider for the upcoming election. It is, and it's important to know about it.) After stating your position on 25 issues, the calculator will tell you the presidential candidates with which you are most aligned.

wow, i cant wait to check out this link!! i was just talking to hubby about politics a few weeks ago while we were traveling. i'm not a big politics person, and i always feel guilty not being up to speed with all the candidates and their issue stances.

i guess voting and elections are one area of my life i just cant decide on...there's so much controversy and trash talk that i get overwhelmed and dont want to take the time to separate the good from the bad. but i know i need to suck it up and be a good citizen!

thanks for sharing this info...i hope it helps get my research for our next presidential election off to a good start :)

have an awesome monday! =D

I got Mike Gravel. That bothers me, because I don't really know anything about him, which means he's pretty unlikely to get the nomination. Dang. Why is it that it's my 4th or 5th pick that usually wins, not my 1st? Sigh.

I heard something interesting regarding press coverage on the radio this morning. Folks were calling in to a local talk show and bemoaning the fact that there's a ton of media coverage over who will win the election (speculation at best) and very little coverage of who SHOULD win the election. Also, lots of coverage of the 'horse race' as they put it, but not so much on the issues. Is that because we tend to give up on voting for the best candidate, and instead put our effort into who we think will win? So that's what's most interesting to us?

Sorry to hijack your post with a super long comment. ;)

I got Ron Paul all the way. He's the ONLY candidate worth a hoot. Of course not many know of him because the corporate-owned media doesn't talk about him unless they HAVE to--like when he breaks fund raising records and such. But the Lord can override that and I'm praying to that end!
