We're home from Virginia. Thanksgiving was a great time! I'll be posting more about it, but thought I'd get things started with this oh so scandalous photo. The foliage was amazingly beautiful!

This blog began as my place to chronicle my life in Los Angeles, where I lived from 2005-2009. In March 2009, my husband and I moved to my home state of Texas, where we have started a new chapter of life together.
My stepdad, John, gave me the nickname "Starshine" and I have always loved it. He passed away in 2003, but his love still resonates in my heart. John had a way of putting things simply and never judging. I hope that this blog will be a place for me to put into practice some of his virtues--a place to openly express myself, free from the judgment of my inner critic. A place to be truly alive!

You're so funny. I told my mom about "topless" today when we saw a tree that had lost its leaves around the top. It made us giggle and think about how delightful you are. (That's what she says about you. I agree.) SUCH a treat to see you and the hubster yesterday. I love you, Kreis.
