Off to Turn Ourselves Into Pretzels

Hubs and I made a deal that if I would go with him to a cycling (spin) class at our gym last week, he would go with me to a yoga class this morning.

Let the fun begin!

Update:  We're back from yoga, and Hubs loved it!  He did great, and said it was a great workout.  :)  Yea, Hubs!

That is so awesome! I have heard great things about both of those things.

Unfortunately, I don't think I would make it through the spin class and I think I would be loud and get the giggles in Yoga!

Cari,

I didn't make it through the spin class! After 30 mins, I bailed out. Hubs stayed for the full hour and said it was by far the hardest thing he'd ever done in a gym.

We both made it through yoga and both of us loved it!

I took a yoga-pilates class awhile back and liked it. Makes you feel so good after. I would have bailed on the spin class also. That's hard stuff!! I've had to not use the elipticals also because of my back. Which is a shame cuz that thing works every muscle!

OK...I'm not exactly sure that I "loved it", given the contortions I was forced to put myself in, but it was a good workout nonetheless, and harder than I expected. And thankfully, I wasn't the only (straight) man in the class.

Your interview with Mrs. G was great.

As a yoga instructor I have many men in my classes. In one of my classes I have more men then women and they are all straight professional men on their lunch break. Great that your Hubs liked the yoga class.

Excellent slow cook - loved your creative, original, snappy intro as well as your video.

And my, what a GOR-JUSS wedding gown! Not to mention sexalicious Hubs.

That is awesome!!! Glad your hubby had fun! It's great being able to workout together! I got my hubby to do kickboxing and aerobics with me. He in turn got me to chop firewood, drive tractor, and work on the farm with him. LOL!

So how long have you been "doing" yoga? Is that the right way to say it? Does one do yoga? Maybe they practice yoga... Yeah that sounds right, maybe. LOL!

Anyway how long ya been at it? I've been toying with the idea for ages. I need to get my bootie to a class.

I'm just intimidated by all the styles and lingo. :)

the yoga classes offered these days are a joke. There is no real teaching, the meditation has a pathetic goal, nothing true to the original thing.

People come to me and say, oh I went to yoga and we meditated to release stress. What the hell is that? Everyone knows how to release stress ... and clear up the mind. Just concentration. Nobody teaches or even knows, about meditation that makes you levitate, meditation that lets you stay outdoors at -20F temperatures and not feeling cold at all ... or for that matter, keeping your body at room temperature.
