This blog began as my place to chronicle my life in Los Angeles, where I lived from 2005-2009. In March 2009, my husband and I moved to my home state of Texas, where we have started a new chapter of life together.
My stepdad, John, gave me the nickname "Starshine" and I have always loved it. He passed away in 2003, but his love still resonates in my heart. John had a way of putting things simply and never judging. I hope that this blog will be a place for me to put into practice some of his virtues--a place to openly express myself, free from the judgment of my inner critic. A place to be truly alive!

As a Grandma, I am hardly impartial...but that photo of Baby & Grandma melted my heart. I love photos of babies hands, feet - even the back of their little heads (they have swirly hair patterns)mmm. adorable! Keep up the good work! xoxo the fan
He's adorable and it's nice to see someone enjoying themselves in the midst of the post hurricane stuff in TX. Tell Jill & your mom to stay put - our power is still out at home.
