Our New Home

Several of you asked me to post some photos of our new house here in Texas.  I wanted to wait until we had most of the unpacking done and been able to hang some things up on the walls.  Anyway, this is our house!  I love the dwarf Magnolia tree in our front yard. The blossoms are just starting to bud!

This is our living room:

...which opens up to the kitchen (no wall between them). It's my fave part of the house:

We sold our bedroom furniture before we left California, so if this looks a little minimalist, it's because our box springs are sitting on the floor, and our bedside tables are tv trays!  I'll show some "after" pictures once this room is set up a little more:

Our guest bedroom, waiting for our friends to come for a visit:

Okay, California friends, now that you have seen your room...time to schedule a trip to Texas!

Your house is gorgeous!!! I love the brick and the trees. I can imagine myself hanging out in your livingroom or us cooking/snacking in your kitchen. All looks warm and inviting. Is that a stencil or a wall hanging over the media center in the livingroom?

Do you liked the striped bedroom? I do..the model of our homes had a bedroom that had lattice work on one wall. I wanted to duplicate it and took pics and everything. But..I'm just not that creative or patient.

Autumn's Mom and Jen Diz-

The scrolly thing over the media center in the living room is a metal wall hanging (it's actually 3 pieces). I bought them at Marshall's Home Goods for a really decent price! I love a good bargain!

Cute cute cute! I see you love Ikea as much as I do. I recognize several pieces. Welcome to Texas! Where in H-town are you? We're in The Woodlands area, north of town, but I treck to the south side 1-2x a week.

Welcome to the adoption process! I'm glad you stumbled on our blog. Maybe we can get together sometime and talk adoption! There are several of us in the area. : )

I'm loving the design and how homey everything is!

And can I just tell you how perfectly model homey that kitchen shot looks? You really captured the warmth with the lighting!

BTW - We've lived in our home for over 5 years and there is still nothing on our walls. If we weren't looking to move soon, I'd fly you out here to decorate!
