Downtown Charleston, Or "Chas-ton" as I like to call it.

We spent some time driving through downtown Charleston today, and then walking around "The Battery", which is the waterfront area. There were so many well-preserved historical buildings and homes dating back to the 1700s...architectural eye-candy everywhere! Charleston is one of the prettiest American cities I've seen. Love it!

My mom fell in love with the window boxes on the houses.

This colorful bunch of buildings is known as "Rainbow Row".

These are a few pics we took of each other down on the waterfront:

To close out this wonderful day, we had a fabulous dinner followed by a little tiramisu! Between the espresso in the tiramisu and the diet coke I had with dinner, I'm a little buzzed...it's 2:30am, and here I am blogging!

I love your adventures in Charleston! I've only been there once but loved it! Isn't the house that supposedly gave Margret Mitchell the idea for Rhett Butler's house somewhere on a corner near Rainbow Row but not facing the water at all?

So fun! Happy belated bday Tracy!!! I love Chas. My best friend has lived there for eh, 15 years I guess now and I love visiting her. Isn't rainbow row precious. There are some yummy coffee shops there...Kaminsky's downtown has some great cake:) Hope you're getting to eat some grits and yummy seafood too. Enjoy! Tamara

I used to live in Mount Pleasant and worked in Charleston! I miss the beach on Sullivan's Island. You have to have a drink at Tommy Condon's (irish pub) and some wings at Wild Wing Cafe!

I've wanted to visit Charleston since I read "Scarlett" way back when. I wonder if they still have the market in the mornings. Or if they ever did, and that was just an idea from the book. :)

Looks like you guys are having a fabulous time. So glad you're having fun. Give your mom a hug for me.
