I am in the grumpiest mood today. Just don't want to be at work. At least my mornings are blessed with a really pretty drive. I took this photo on Monday morning. I'm a sucker for pretty sunrises and sunsets!

This blog began as my place to chronicle my life in Los Angeles, where I lived from 2005-2009. In March 2009, my husband and I moved to my home state of Texas, where we have started a new chapter of life together.
My stepdad, John, gave me the nickname "Starshine" and I have always loved it. He passed away in 2003, but his love still resonates in my heart. John had a way of putting things simply and never judging. I hope that this blog will be a place for me to put into practice some of his virtues--a place to openly express myself, free from the judgment of my inner critic. A place to be truly alive!

I agree with ally bean, just go with the grumpness :) Eventually it'll discover you're not paying much attention to it and go away.
This is why I need a new cell phone. My current one doesn't have a camera, and when I am overtaken by a pretty sunrise or sunset, I pull out my actual camera, and that probably isn't that safe.
BTW - what time are you going to work that no one is on the road? That doesn't sound like any LA freeway I've ever been on!
Cherry...I go to work EARLY!!! But I also commute against the flow of rush hour traffic, so there is usually more traffic coming in the opposite direction.

Sunsets at Venice beach were always my favorite things in L.A.
