Don't Judge a Film by its Title

When I saw the previews for the first installment of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I thought, "The story had better be better than the title." And boy, was it!  I absolutely LOVED the movie, so when I heard that there would be a sequel, I knew that I would want to go see it.

I wanted to bring Hubs to see TSotTP 2, but he wouldn't go near it with a 10-foot pole, given the title, and frankly, I don't blame him. So I took myself to the movies, and I loved the sequel almost as much as I loved the first one.

If you have a chance to see it, go for it! You'll feel for the four lead characters, who are played by very talented young actresses: Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Amber Tamblyn.

The movie left me feeling good and left me thinking, too. I walked out feeling happy to be a woman and happy that I found love with Hubs. I was also asking myself what I really want to do with this gift of life that God has given me.  Not too shabby, for a movie with a name that just doesn't do it justice!

My roommate introduced me to the first film just a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed it.

Now we'll have to get a group of girls together for a night out and see the sequel!

Did you see Mamma Mia? I just loved it. Everyone walked out of the theater will big smiles. :)

I sat through "House Bunny", I opted to see "Mama Mia" on opening night (even suggested that we see it, passing on "The Dark Knight") and had to endure two weeks of ABBA songs dancing in my head. But I draw the line at "The Traveling Pants." :)

Can we go see a movie where things blow up and nobody falls in love?

I really enjoyed the books that these movies are based on. Fun reads. I liked the first movie, and I'm sure I'll see the second eventually.

B, you're funny. And honest about your requirements in a film. ;)

Starshine - This was a great girl movie and I loved it as much as TSotTP1. It was a nice break and I saw it the same weekend I saw Mamma Mia with gal pals as well! Glad that someone else appreciates this stuff!

So glad to hear that you enjoyed the movie! I was curious to see what you'd think of it! :)

My two little nieces loved it too. It was a great "feel good" movie. Sometimes you need that...especially when life is so busy and hectic.

My nieces had read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books and it was so neat that they were telling me about the discrepancies between the books and the movie. Typical English teacher, me...I just love it when kids read the books and enjoy them!!

Your review is spot-on. What a "feel-good movie" this was. Loopy and I both cried a little bit!
