Yahtzeeholics

When we traveled to Virginia for Thanksgiving, I played my first game of Yahtzee. Brian's family has been playing it for years, but this was my foray into the wonderful world of Yahtzee, and I was instantly hooked. We played everyday for the rest of our vacation.

I loved it so much, Brian gave me the game for Christmas.

His mom came for a visit last week, and again, we played it everyday. It's a lot of fun, and it doesn't require so much concentration that you can't chat while you play.

Here's a picture of Brian and his mom showing off her "snake eyes Yahtzee"!

Who knew this little game of dice would become a family obsession? I didn't see it coming, but I can't stop rolling for just one more Yahtzee!

We got obsessed a few months ago too! I had never played but Kevin grew up playing... isn't it fun? I never win anything ever but I have unstoppable luck in Yahtzee so of course I love it! :) Roll one for me!

If you hadn't mentioned that he was adopted, I would have thought, "Gee, he looks like his mom!"

Fun Tracy. I can't believe you had never played Yahtzee before. Cute pic of Brian and his mom. Sounds like y'all had a great visit :)

I love the sound of those dice rattling in the cup!

My family was huge on this when I was a teenager, it's kind of like bunco but not as violent (grin).

I grew up playing Yahtzee and I couldn't believe Eric had never played until just a few years ago as my mom and I were searching for games Eric would play with us.

Growing up, Sunday afternoon meant sitting around playing games after church at my grandmother's apartment. Usually it was card games, but quite often Yahtzee or Scrabble would be pulled out. I suck at Scrabble but number games I could do.

I don't even think we have a new Yahtzee game as we are still using my grandmother's set, and our old score sheets are still in the box. Eric got a kick out of finding my little kid scratch on them.

Glad you guys had a great visit with your mother-in-law.

Yahtzee is not only fun, it's a good way to teach arithmetic to your kids. So keep it up!

I wish Ted and Maya enjoyed it. Sigh.

We've been playing it in my house since I was little. Always a fun time! Other family favorites include Scattergories, Skip-Bo, and Phase 10.
